Claudia became ill and went to California to live with her daughter.
When the daughter had to leave California, Claudia went to live with
Annie Triplow, her mother-in-law. Jesse joined her there. He again
became a car salesman with his own agency.

Jesse graduated from Reed College in Portland and after getting his PHD at Case, now Case-Western Reserve, he became a college professor in chemistry at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio in 1948. He retired in 1987. After he died Bessie returned to Oregon.

From "History of Mercer and Henderson Counties (Ill.) 1882

The first house in Arasmith Grove township, Mercer County, Illinois was built by Abner Arrasmith (24), in the SW 1/4 section 13, about 1834.

The village now known by he name of Swedona was laid out in 1838 by Abner Arasmith, now of Kansas. The name was changed from Arasmith Grove Township to Richland Grove Township in 1837. Berlin changed in 1869 to Swedona. Being located on what was known as the state road, between Knoxville and Rock Island.

Per Katherine Russell, direct descendant of this Abner, he died in 1878 in Olathe, Kansas (she has copy of will)
