"In the name of God Amen. I Richard Arrow-Smith of the County of Bourbon and state of Kentucky being weak of body but having my perfect sences and knowing the mortality of man and that it is appointed for all men once to die do make this my last Will and Testament. First I recommend my soul to Almighty God that gave it me and my body to be decently buryed.

"Item. I give and bequest unto my well beloved wife Carander Arrowsmith all my land and personal Estate during her natural life or Widow hood it is my will that my well beloved wife shall after my decease sell off as much of my personal Estate as will pay all my just debts and that she keep the ballance of my Estate in her full possession during her natural life or Widow hood and after the death of my well beloved wife Carander Arrowsmith it is my will that my land and personal Estate be then sold and equally divided amongst my twelve Children. Viz., Mary Longnecker William Arrowsmith Rebecca Garriott Alexander Arrowsmith John Arrowsmith Margaret Arrowsmith Elizabeth Arrowsmith Sinthy Arrowsmith Levina Arrowsmith Alva Arrowsmith James Arrowsmith and Sary Arrowsmith. Also I leave my well beloved wife Carander Arrowsmith Executrix to my Estate. As witness my hand and seal this fifteenth day April in the year of our Lord God 1814.
