The above photograph is my Aunt Lanice (Lanice Grace Cardwell Furhman) and my mother Virginia Cardwell Dezell.

My Cardwell line is documented back to Thomas Cardwell who died in Granville County, North Carolina in 1899. His son Nelson Cardwell who was born 1798 in Granville County, North Carolina and father of my gr-gr-grandfather, Samuel Richard Cardwell.

The link to document which Cardwell line we belong to has been found through the Cardwell DNA project that my Uncle Lannie participated in. They have changed the original site for the Cardwell DNA results but did find a link on Family Tree DNA. On the link above we are Cardwell line III.

I have been told we have Irish ancestry linked to our Cardwell line and while I see it in other Cardwell lines have not found it in ours yet!
