CARDWELL   My Cardwell line is currently documented back two generations from Lannie Earl Cardwell (b. July 29, 1904) to his father, William Soloman Cardwell/Fannie Elliott Arrasmith to his grandfather, Samuel Richard  Cardwell/Sarah Elizabeth Malone.  We may be able to go back several more generations because my uncle is participating in the Cardwell DNA project which takes us tentatively back to Samuel Richard's father Nelson Cardwell b. 1798 in Granville, NC to Thomas Cardwell who died in 1799 in Granville, NC.
